Candace J. Wansley

Born and raised in Memphis, TN, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from Christian Brothers University in 1992. Within the next two years, I earned my M.B.A. from The University of Memphis (Go Tigers!) and passed the CPA exam. I spent several years in public accounting with one of the biggest global CPA firms, Ernst & Young. I then worked in corporate accounting for the next twenty years with companies such as Coca-Cola Enterprises, Dreyer’s/Edy’s Ice Cream, Medtronic, Cummins Inc, and U.K. based Games Workshop. My responsibilities ranged from financial analysis up to Controller and everything in between.

I believe that my background in both public and private accounting gives me a unique perspective into the financial, tax, and business needs of all types of individuals and small businesses. My experiences have allowed me to develop the skills required to negotiate the ever changing landscape of tax and accounting issues while helping clients deal with the federal and state tax agencies. In addition, I’ve learned the negotiation skills required to work with outside agencies that impact businesses on everyday basis. The corporate accounting world provided me with invaluable experiences but my heart lies with individuals and small business owners, where I can truly make a difference in someone’s life.

Within the last few years, I have discovered that the area where I can provide the most help is tax resolution, especially after the pandemic hit and threw millions into financial distress. I’ve been able to save my clients hundreds of thousand dollars and help them get in compliance with the IRS so they can sleep peacefully at night. I am a Gold Member of the Tax Rep Network where I am surrounded by a network of experienced tax resolution specialists, and I’m constantly learning new techniques and negotiation skills.

I am also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and follow its strict guidelines along with the Board of Accountancy’s rules and regulations for CPA’s. I now live in the Northern Atlanta area, but I serve clients all over the United States. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, vacationing at the beach, cooking, reading, and scrapbooking.
