Jo-Ann Weiner is an expert in the forensic tax accounting field as a Certified Fraud Examiner, an Enrolled Agent, an NTPI Fellow, and a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist.
In 2011, after working for the IRS as a Revenue Agent for 35 years (where she audited federal tax returns, analyzing books and records, worked as a special enforcement agent on civil cases, criminal cases, and grand jury cases), Ms. Weiner worked as an outside contractor for the IRS teaching Corporate Taxation to Revenue Agents.
In 2013 she transitioned her vast and deep experience with the federal government by forming her private practice J. L. Weiner & Associates, LLC. Based on her technical tax law knowledge, experience auditing books and records, and her knowledge of the procedures and practices of the IRS, Jo-Ann routinely represents clients who are being audited by the federal or state government or are being investigated on federal criminal tax charges. She collaborates closely on legal teams and in divorces helping to determine assets available to her clients. Corporations victimized by corporate fraud are among her clients. In the past, Ms. Weiner served as an expert witness testifying in court for the federal government. Currently, Ms. Weiner testifies and has been deemed an “expert” in legal disputes.
Jo-Ann continues teaching and speaking regarding technical tax topics. She has been a member of the National Speaking Team for the National Association of Enrolled Agents. She is published on various technical tax topics.
