Tom Hawbaker

I’ve been a CPA for 38 years. I’m licensed in Texas, Florida and Georgia, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers.

I started my career in 1978 after graduating from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. I began as a staff accountant with a Houston, Texas CPA firm and became a partner in 1982. In 1985 an auto dealer client hired me away from public accounting and I spent the next 35 years in the automotive retailing business as the CFO of several significant dealership groups in the U.S.

In my last position I was the CFO of a 12 dealership group that rang up nearly $1B in annual revenue and employed 950+ people. I oversaw all of the financial affairs of the group including tax compliance with the IRS. During that time I maintained my CPA licenses and became an expert in tax resolution methods and processes.
