As a former IRS appeals officer in the Los Angeles area, I have 25 years of experience in tax law administration. Prior to that, I was an IRS agent in the TEGE Division for 7 years. I received several performance awards in recognition for my work both as an agent and appeals officer. During my time in Appeals, I successfully resolved a wide range of tax issues (income, excise, employment) from IRS exam and Collection. Many of the issues resolved were unusual or had little IRS guidance. I specialize in TEGE sourced cases, including exempt organizations, Fed, state and local governments (FSLG) and Indian Tribal Governments (ITG). Other specialty areas include payroll tax, innocent spouse, TFRP, penalty abatement, and chapter 42 excise taxes. This dispute resolution of the underlying liability is a niche practice among tax professionals. Helping people resolve their tax disputes continues to be gratifying for me because of its challenging nature.
When not working, I enjoy watching sports, traveling, cycling, reading, dining out and spending time with my family. I also do some volunteer work for my local community in Los Angeles.
